Introduction to Shiatsu for the Novice with Carol Dean
I completed my shiatsu training with the Shiatsu College in London and have
been a practitioner for 27 years. Within this time I have run my own practice
and also offered shiatsu to people with physical disabilities, individuals with a
diagnosis of cancer and also their families.
I set up the Northern School of Shiatsu in 1998 and we celebrated our 20 year
anniversary last year. During this time we have run introductory day workshops,
foundation courses and also the three year diploma course in shiatsu. I have also
taught Shiatsu at Bradford College, Rotherham College and Derby University.
During this two hour workshop I will give a brief overview on the history and
origins of shiatsu but mainly we will do some hands on shiatsu practice. I hope to
introduce you to some basic shiatsu techniques for working on the face and also
the neck and shoulder.
